Who is Workbar?
Workbar provides office space solutions all across the Boston Area. They offer coworking spaces, meeting rooms, and private offices through monthly memberships.
Existing Sitemap
We began the project by creating a sitemap for the existing website. This helped get a handle on its structure and see the big picture of what the site was aiming to accomplish.
User Goals
The next step was to define the user goals in order to prioritize the end states that the users were trying to reach. We defined these goals as:
Find nearby Workbar locations
Learn about different service offerings
Schedule a tour
Purchase a pass / membership
I evaluated these goals on the existing site by laying out user flows and taking on the user's perspective. This helped uncover pain points and underscore the need for a complete site redesign.
New Sitemap
Having defined the user goals, we were able to create a new sitemap, which would serve as the foundation for the website build.
Wireframes
I referenced the sitemap to determine the number of unique page templates, and then began creating the wireframes.
Problem: Choosing a Membership
While designing the wireframes, it became evident that selecting a solution would be a painpoint for users. There were too many variables for a single step, so we needed a method to aid them in this process.
Solution: Survey Assistance
We determined that a survey would be a suitable solution to address this issue. It would involve asking users a series of questions and then provide them with the ideal membership option.
To accomplish this, I identified all the questions that could help understand the user's needs. I then created a decision tree that charted out each scenario and its corresponding outcome.
Visual Design
We then created 3 different visual directions based on the existing colors and logo for the client to choose from.
Icon Library
I also designed 33 icons to visually represent the amenities available at each Workbar location.
